Island Architects is an architectural and planning firm, founded in 1984 by Ro Wickham (deceased) and owned by Taylor Mauck (Architect)
Located on North Padre Island, we strive to create distinguished architecture, within realistic budgets and construction schedules. We continuously focus on building lasting relationships with our clients, with an emphasis on their priorities, vision, and goals throughout the design process. “WE LISTEN!”
We have completed designs, plans and specifications for over 4,000 single family homes, and several hundred units of condo, townhouse and apartment projects. Commercial projects include churches, shopping centers, schools, medical facilities, banks, marina/yacht clubs and office buildings.
Island Architects has produced superior structures, while maintaining high-quality innovative design, attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Our unique styles include Contemporary-Modern, Traditional, Farmhouse, Mediterranean, Ranch, French Country, Spanish, Victorian, and many more. We also have 3D capabilities for a more in-depth visual approach. Our design work has been showcased in the coastal area, as well as the Texas Hill Country and beyond.
Services and fees are tailored to the budget and requirements of each client. We can assist in building code and zoning ordinance information. We are familiar with several builders in our area that have produced superb construction of our designs.
